Hello everyone!
I have been juggling a few projects this month for my book publishing company. It is a great start to the new year and I look forward to some major announcements in the coming months. For now, here are some examples of things that I have been working on this month. 1. Brand new book cover of 'The Tragic Tale of Teddy Woven' is in the works! To celebrate the six year anniversary, I would like to have a new cover design and offer a hardcover version. I am in the process of finding a painter that works with my vision for the front cover of the book. After the painting is completed, it will be shipped off to my graphic designer, Vickie, to polish it up. Looking forward to the new book release cover of this novel, it will be available in the month of April. 2. Book covers for 'Far from Home' book 2 and 3 are in the works. This month I have been working with my graphic designer, Vikkie, to help me design the spine and back covers. She is the one that helped me with 'Far from Home' book 1. She also designed 'Cursed' a couple of years back. It is always lovely working alongside of her. 3. I have edited 'Far from Home' book 2 and 3 after many years of it sitting on my laptop. I changed a few things around, but the ending is still the same. Hoping to ship off the manuscript of 'Far from Home' book 2 by the end of this month! Ideally, I would like the book two to be published in the month of February, but it all depends if I find a new editor in time. 4. The manuscript of 'Morton Hall' has been become my new pet project. I have edited the incomplete work, and then felt the need to finish the manuscript. Daily I have been writing a chapter or two at a time, which makes it by far the longest book I have ever written. It is the darkest novel with a very violet and ill-tempered villain, so I am still hesitant to publish it. Who knows... maybe a few years down the line I will sum up the courage to bring it forth to the public eye. 5. I have updated the author's page and photograph on all of my previously published books. I wanted to update the information for any new readers in the year 2026. Thanks for taking the time to read this blog post. Wishing you a very pleasant day and the happiest of new years!

The Maze Runner by James DashnerMy rating: 4 of 5 stars An excellent novel for young adolescence. It easily depicts the struggles of a young boy. Themes such as the need for a sense of belonging, normalcy, desiring friendships, and proving oneself. In the novel we are introduced to the character, Thomas, a young teenage boy with his memories wiped and found himself in a prison-like structure surrounded by a maze. The novel is very relatable to young boys and girls and can easily be taught in school, or simply given as a present for your favourite niece or nephew. As for myself, I might teach it in my elementary classes in the coming years. Fascinating read and would highly recommend it. Eagerly excited for the next instalment, The Scorch Trials. View all my reviews Yesterday I experimented with a variety of AI image generated websites to find a perfect depiction of the villian, Aodhan McVeigh. I have been sitting on this image of a book cover for over two years, but thanks to the advancement of AI editing images, I can now make this model look more like the character, Aodhan McVeigh from the 'Far From Home' series. I was hoping to find dazzling blue eyes, almost an aquamarine colour to them that is most unsettling. I also needed the model to have strands of grey hair cut short, just like the character in the novel. Thanks to AI this idea in my head has finally become a reality!
'Far from Home' book two and three that has not yet been released, I will be working on the book covers in the coming days. Hoping to release 'Far from Home: Book 2" by the end of this cold, dreary winter. Updates about the vampire book series will be coming soon! Alas, I am settled down and happily married. I have met the love of my life. I acknowledge that I have been away from this blog and social media itself, but I was in love... it was love that slipped me back into reality. There was no point escaping into a Gothic world full of brooding characters and naive heroines. I could not write a Gothic romance novel when I was so happy, it would be like mixing oil with water.
Lately we have been getting into the habit of reading short stories to each other, and our latest read was 'Ligeia' by Edgar Allan Poe. Our mutual love for Edgar Allan Poe's work has reignited my own personal love for that specific genre of Gothic lit, and so I have felt the blinds shutter over my eyes and eased myself into the darkness once more. In the new year I plan to return to my publishing company and be more active on Instagram. It will include my most recent reads (book review), updates on my stories, and potential dates for publishing. There may also be some book cover relaunches, so you can keep an update on this blog or my Instagram page. As a married women, I expect my future works to change in tone, but I can assure you that my heart will forever be true to the paranormal and Gothic elements of this fascinating type of literature. Thank you for staying true to me, my most loyal reader. Peter Gray |
