Destiny - A tale of a girl that tested fate.

Plot-line: Magic is all but vanished from the land, scorched from the earth for generations, but a prophecy from long ago may bring it to an end. The fate of all sorcerers and mystical beings belongs to none other than Evelyn Keyes, and a man that wasn't a part of the prophecy but is slowly putting a wedge into her heart.

I have been working on this story for the past few months now. It has consumed me wholly, mainly because I have never written anything quite like this before. It is inspired by my love of classic fantasy novels such as Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. I am enjoy the fantasy aspect so far, especially since it is  set in the medieval period. I have an undergraduate degree in History, and during my time there I studied a lot of classical and medieval history and literature. I suppose all of that knowledge has come in handy while crafting this novel.

The social justice aspect is something I am enjoying immensely as well. There is a division among the people in the kingdom of Mòrean because magic is abolished from the land. Anyone that practices magic is condemned to death, and that includes man, woman and child. Evelyn is in the center of this conflict. She has been personally impacted by the laws that condemned her family to death, forcing her to grow up alone as an orphan while ostracized by society. She is alone and afraid, but one day she meets a man that reveals to her a prophecy that could change the entire future of Mòrean. A prophecy that could bring back magic to the land, but it will come at a cost.
