It's officially Saturday ? A short extract from a book I am currently working on called "Awakening" Fingers crossed I can type up the last chapter this weekend. The air was brisk against my face once we stepped out doors. Twilight was upon us, and with it came the gleaming of stars and a sliver of the moon. A few seldom calls from birds ignited the air, but aside from that all was silent. Mr. Summers directed my family to the left, claiming there was a narrow pathway that we might follow. The moonlight afforded some light, but not much. He became a dark shade to the right of me, a towering figure clad in black. We walked in silence for the first few minutes, and then he looked over his shoulder to ensure we had some distance from my parents. “I am sure you understand the reasoning for this,” he stated with utter frankness. “Inviting your family to my home.” “I believe so, sir.” “I wish you to say it aloud,” he asked of me in a soft, and yet, kindly manner. “You intend to marry me.” “It has crossed my thoughts.” “Why do you wish to marry me?” “Why does anyone wish to marry?” he questioned in a playful manner. “I think I am in love with you, Ava.” #historicalromance #perioddrama #regency #writersofinstagram #writer #petergray #romancenovel #newproject
